A Revelation Through Dance

As a child I spent half of my Saturday mornings cleaning and the other half waiting for the Soul Train Line. I had my best moves ready to do battle with the guys who made the show and I was living out my dreams in my grandmother’s living room. As I got older and my dreams changed, the priorities of my life took over and a new set of goals emerged. But what of the dreams of a 14-year-old girl, already sold on the love of dance by her hip hop class, watching Alvin Ailey as a freshman in high school? Or the high school junior that impresses his father so much that he gives his consent to pursue a career in dance?
