Memoirs of an Insomniac: A Midsummer Night's Nightmare

Life has a funny way of placing itself in the middle of your day. Yesterday (today) was one of those days where emotions ruled and everything else took a back seat. I gave blood and a pound of flesh to things tearing at my heart and landed on my couch before 3pm for a nap that carried me past 5 and through an important business call. That nap is probably the cause of me trying to put words together in three separate documents at 3am. I gave up on sleep around 11 when I started watching Casino Royale and knew it was going to be a long night when I finished it well after 1am.

Yet, like a fool I tried to close my eyes anyway and slept a whole 15 minutes before I woke in a sweat from a nightmare. I guess popcorn at 11:30 was a bad idea, old folks say it, so it sounds right. Whatever the case, I went right into the bad dream, so sleep isn't really high on my list of things to do tonight. Rocky II it is…

Anyone remember the episode of "The Jeffersons" with Lou Gossett Jr.? *random thought*

I'm a little disturbed by the "Shake Weight" *really random thought*

I suppose I could have taken a sleeping pill 5 hours ago and slept until now, but that would have done me no justice for what I have to undertake tomorrow (today). It just happens that Friday happens to be an extremely busy day for me through the summer, so there's no rest for the weary. Mix in temperatures in the mid-90's and I'm gonna be a bad mood for most of the day! It's the OG Don Davis' birthday, so after work a few of us are going out to celebrate…if only I make it.

I guess I'll get to work on a few real reads for you over the next couple of days; just because I had a nightmare, doesn't mean that I can't dream…

I've had insomnia this week too. I think it from being on the computer a lot.

Need a book to read? Check out my blog. I just completed a novella called DREAM ZONE. :D
