Just Those Poor Babies Walking Slowly To The Candy Lady

...It's looking bad, need some words of hope, like the words maybe, if, or probably.

One thing I don't like to do is bring back a topic back to back days. But, with 283 responses I guess I couldn't just let yesterday's discussion go. You State workers had it going all day long, yall know Corzine is trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents, be careful. Most people chose to focus on the Obama/Rev. Wright portion of the post and totally omitted what was said about the church, which was really my point, Obama and Wright was just introductory. That's cool, as long as you read that too.

I stayed up until 1am reading the varied responses. Well, they didn't vary much, they ranged mostly from total condemnation of Reverend Wright to questioning his timing, wondering if he was in Hillary's pocket or outright telling him to hush up. What about that man makes you think he will take a seat for political reasons? Furthermore, how can people actually expect anyone to compromise their beliefs for the sake of politics?

"Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian" is the creed which he lives by and if his brand of truth is making people so uncomfortable, it's time to take a look in the mirror. I guess the big point of contention is his assertion that the Government created the AIDS virus as a form of social genocide. Is that really out of the realm of possibility? We're talking about the same Government that conducted the Tuskegee Experiment, injecting Syphilis into Black men. The same folks that spared no expense in neutralizing the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. The same Government that Ronnie Regan and Ollie North representing making back door cocaine deals to fund Osama bin Laden and the Taliban in the 80's. The same people who tapped every place Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. went over the last few years of his life. How far off could he have been?

There are folks out there who find discomfort in openly discussing politics and religion. I don't get that, especially in a country where the President's politics are dictated by his religion. To shrink away from conversation when it comes to these topics is to justify a thought that you aren't strong in your convictions, much like people would've said about Rev. Wright had he declined invitations to appear and give these speeches.

Everyone is so concerned about Obama losing the Democratic Nomination because of his former allegiance to Rev. Wright. Like Barack promised you forty acres and mule! He's a politician. His promises die on that first Tuesday in November, like every other talking head. This is the same man that told Black folks to pull themselves up by their boot straps! Someone said that he's restored hope in the government, that he's the man for change. How much can he really change, when so much damage has been done? Band-aid on Cancer.

After what I read yesterday, I see that many people have traded truth for hope; I'm starting to see why you hate that word Ms. McClain. Guess it's just those poor babies walking slowly to the candy lady...
