The Slow Burn

After two beautiful mid-winter days, many of us woke up this morning to rain, clouds, wind or just plain ol' darkness. What a Hump Day! It was the kind of start to the morning that makes you beg for ten extra minutes of sleep and that becomes a day off. It's the kind of dreary day that makes you think, so I got to thinking about love.

Not just any kind of love, that George & Weezy love, Luke & Laura kind of love. That real love, not that Ike & Tina thing, that Angie & Jesse type of love. The kind of love that would make a man kill his woman, chop her up, put her in the crock pot and then eat her! What type of crazy love is that? He put his lady in the crock pot!?! The same place where the he had beef, potatoes and carrots for Sunday dinner. I'm not making light of the situation, but he must've really loved her to let her cook slow like that. I mean, he could've placed her pieces in a skillet, dropped her in the fry daddy or something, but the police found her ear in the crock pot.

So it's about that time, push on back away from the monitor and sing along with Bobby Caldwell...

I guess you wonder where I've been
I searched to find a love within
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Well I'm in a daze from your love, you see I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of

What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything but you don't give up
In my world only you makes me do
For love what I would not do
But then I only want the best it's true
They can't believe the things I do for you
What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything but you don't give up
In my world, only you makes me do
For love what I would not do
Makes me do for love what I would not do
