Open Invitation - TyreseIn the last five years, Tyrese has cashed in at the box office, garnered over 2 million followers via Twitter, and even written a book, but he hasn’t made any music…until now. Tyrese has transformed from the guy on the Coca-Cola bus to a multi-dimensional renaissance man, transcending cultural barriers and speaking his mind, leaving an imprint on the culture he’s grown up under the microscope of. In the midst of it all, that majestic voice has never left and he’s back with his latest album, Open Invitation, his first independent release and an event for you to attend.

The lack of support from his former label J Records during his last album Alter Ego left a sour taste in Mr. Gibson’s mouth, and a void on our iPods. There were rumors of a supergroup with Tank and Ginuwine–which never materialized–but a spirited tribute to the O’Jays at the BET Awards definitely left fans clamoring for new Tyrese material. It seemed like the movies were in the way, hard to step away from the Transformers and Fast and Furious franchises, but then he became a New York Times bestselling author and music seemed to be further and further in his rearview mirror. If you’ve been following him on Twitter (@Tyrese), you’ve read his pearls of wisdom, laughed at his typos (he laughs too), but then you also learned that he was in the studio with R. Kelly, Rick Ross and Ludacris.
