In Search of Superwoman...



I grew up around strong, conscientious, beautiful Black women; they were lawyers, principals, teachers, students, maids, doctors, publishers, realtors, professors and entrepreneurs; girlfriends, sisters, friends, grandmothers, aunties, homemakers, wives, and mothers. I could easily be talking about women in my neighborhood growing up or friends of my mother, but the women I’m speaking of were characters on my favorite television shows over the first twenty some odd years of my life and they are gone, replaced by classless, multi-hued versions of the same woman.
