Snow Day...Already?

I wake up this morning and much to my surprise, the ground is covered with snow. I know winter's here, but we know the snow doesn't really start until February/March around here. I've been fighting this cold all week, to no avail, I guess more Thera-Flu & less Level & Tonic will help that. As I write this, I'm a little high off of Sudafed, so bare with me.
The homie Will finally messed around & copped a new ride, the Nissan 350Z and boy it's nice! Fast too, I topped out at 117 on 287 the other night and I know Will is waiting to have a chance of open highway to test the limits. I'm watching Will's P.I. rise everyday!
Last night was fight night, Benard Hopkins went in against Jermain Taylor in hopes of regaining his titles...didn't happen. The old pro was outclassed by the young boy, damn I miss the days when boxers actually got knocked out! I've gotten to know the judges very well over the last couple of years.
Speaking of judges, Irv Gotti and his brother Chris were acquitted of Money Laundering friday night. Now, that may be a victory for them and some may applaud that two black men will not be going to jail, but I gotta say, them niggas were guilty! The government's witnesses and evidence wasn't the strongest, but they did something. It's not like things are over for them, we all know the government never gives up and it's not like any of us are anticipating running out to cop the next Ja Rule album.
I spent yesterday reading "Queens Reigns Supreme"
by Ethan Brown who decided to write about the 1980's drug organizations in Southeast Queens, New York run by Fat Cat, Pappy Mason, Supreme, and Tony Montana among others and then connect them to the Hip-Hop artists who reside from the same areas and have even run with these cats, such as RUN-DMC, 50 Cent, Ja Rule and of course the Gotti Brothers (Irv and Chris Lorenzo) who recently beat a case which was based on their relationships with Supreme, head of the once notorious Supreme Team.
This White Boy examined court documents, listened to twenty year old wiretaps, interviewed former hood stars, current rap stars, pulled old newspaper articles together and capitalized off of trial in which Irv Gotti and others faced the possibility of having their lives destroyed and fortunes squandered. Who's the real gangster around here?
A few interesting things came to light through this trial though:
  1. Be careful what you send in your text messages! The government's prosecutors had pages of two-way pager messages between the Gottis & Supreme. Most of the messages were coded or very vague, but it seemed that they were keeping tabs on 50 Cent at times, clocking his movements, appearances and comments made in interviews.
  2. One text message revealed a past romance between Irv Gotti and Ashanti when it appeared that Nelly may have been feeling some type of way when he began dating Ashanti. Wonder if the Viagra & Extasy King filmed this video (NSFW)http://kaktuz.net/media/kaktuz.com_ashanti.wmv
  3. If you come in contact with a former Kingpin who led a crew of murderers and you're running a highly popular record company, don't make that nigga your friend!

Numerous messages referred to 50 Cent as a snitch and we all know how the hood feels about snitches. Stop snitching shirts and DVD's are the hot thing right now in the hood, what kind of foolish shit is that? Stop snitching, nigga please! I am an advocate of snitching, tattle-telling, dropping a dime, being a patsy, stool pidgeon, call it whatever. But I'll call the police in a second, we don't need them criminals running around, we got people out here trying to raise babies and you talking about stop snitching! I'm about to market my own T-Shirts with this design...

It'll get someone killed, but I'm depending on a brave citizen to cooperate with authorities in the investigation.
