A Writer for Myself and Others...


Aliya S. King is a writer. Her byline has appeared in Vibe, Essence, Uptown, Black Enterprise, US Weekly, King, Teen People, and the list goes on. A few years ago she transitioned to biographies and novels, co-writing Keep the Faith with Faith Evans and assisting Frank Lucas on his autobiography Original Gangster.  But it is her debut novel, Platinum, that stands out the most in her career; that is, before the recent release of its sequel, Diamond Life.  With all of the words written, it’s the words she says that leave an impression.
I stood to the side as she told a captivated audience of college freshmen how she’s initiated the major changes in her career; she’s gone from teacher to editorial assistant to journalist to author.
